Sisters of Sainte-Marie de Namur

NAMUR, 11.11.1819

Creation
"helping young people to discover Gospel values, preparing them through school or other means, for the commitments of adult life, is considered a service of great importance.
In some cases, it will be a question of ensuring a basic education for those who would otherwise be deprived of it."
(excerpts from the constitutions of the congregation)

YESTERDAY
It is around the table and along the way that, from our origins, we become Sisters of Sainte-Marie. Thus, formation, which would be synodal, is not only a pedagogical tool for the first years of consecrated life. Throughout our life, we are called to a constant transformation which reaches its fullness in our passage towards eternity.
Mary, the simplest, the most humble, the most beautiful, has always received a special place in our lives.
TODAY
Women accomplices of the earth and of life, we want to listen, sow hope, prepare and share bread.
Sisters of Saint Mary, the mission of Jesus is close to our hearts and keeps us united throughout our lives. Today, those with whom we journey challenge us to an approach to mission that is prophetic and to attitudes that beckon.
- Active listening and accompaniment, as proposed by the Synod of Bishops on Youth (2018)
- Renewed attention to women, young people, the poor, marginalized, excluded, isolated people.
We say yes to what Pope Francis is proposing: "Our horizon is the other!"
